RESUME

(what I've been up to, professionally speaking!)

Kansas City Art Institute Class of 2013 :  Bachelor's Degree in Fine Arts

Double Major in Printmaking & Creative Writing

Freelance:

Writer, Editor, Illustrator

May 2016 - present

As a freelancer, I wear a variety of hats. From expert wordsmithing to providing a keen visual eye, it is safe to say that I am a bit of a jack of all trades!

I am proficient in writing for SEO, as well as scheduled social media posts, blog writing, web content and more. I also know my way around the Adobe Suite, particularly Photoshop, InDesign, and Premiere Pro.

I maintain an active studio practice and I continue to write creatively, as well as copywriting for a wide variety of clientele.

WNDR Museum: Poet & Ambassador

March 2022 - present

At WNDR Museum, I hold two roles, poet & ambassador.

As Poet, I write on-the-spot flash poetry for museum guests, based on two word prompts. I use a typewriter to create the poems, and the guests are able to take them home as a unique souvenir from their visit.

As Ambassador, I am guest-facing, providing unique "surprise & delight" interactions, as well as speaking knowledgeably about all exhibits & assisting with way-finding.

Ivor Andrew: Account Executive

April 2022 - Aug 2022

At Ivor Andrew, I acted as a liaison between the client and the creative team.

As part of my role, I managed the social media channels using HeyOrca!, as well as various creative projects using FunctionPoint. Projects included trade show booth design, print collateral, and website design. I also helped to copyedit various materials on an as needed basis.

Zahner:

Sales & Marketing

Jan 2013 - May 2016

During my time with Zahner, I was promoted twice. I was also given the opportunity to work as a supervisor and be involved in the hiring process for a new marketing assistant.

Tasks included:

Design coordination / Copywriting and Editing / International and domestic travels for sales presentations and marketing at trade shows / Liaison with clients and lead informational tours of facilities / Document various projects / Communicating firsthand with potential clients & reviewing architectural drawings.

I also assisted with the implementation

of Microsoft Dynamics CRM for company-wide use, a first for the company.

Two Tone Press:

Intern

Aug 2012 - Dec 2012

I was the 2012 Two Tone Press Intern for the KCAI fall semester.

While there, I got experience with learning to handset letterpress type, operating a Vandercook printing press to publish editions of commissioned projects, mixing ink to Pantone specifications, and was also able to generate my own hand-carved and digital designs.

Kansas City Free School:

Community Organizer

Aug 2012 - Dec 2012

Kansas City Free School was a community art project headed by the artist Charlie Mylie. While involved, I was able to participate in grassroots organizing to provide free collaborative & educational opportunities for the KC community at large, for all ages.

My individual contribution involved designing & hand-printing materials such as zines, information pamphlets & fliers.

I also taught a course on screenprinting and attended a variety of skillshare classes taught by my peers.

Sprung Formal Literary Magazine:

Publishing Team

Jan 2012 - May 2012

Sprung Formal is a literary arts magazine published yearly by the Kansas City Art Institute. I collaborated in soliciting work, curating, and publishing issue 7. My writing appears in issues 6, 7, and 8.

I also helped to organize the Reading Release Party for issue 7, including working with local breweries & restaurants for donations of catering.
